Along with advancements in medical technology, this course is offered to fulfil the needs for skilled and trained biomedical technologist to assist in the operation, development and management of biomedical laboratories. Biomedical Laboratory Technologist plays a major role as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. They are involved primarily in hospitals, clinics and physicians' office laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, forensic, research and public health laboratories. There are expanding opportunities for biomedical lab technologists to assist in research and development, and as technical and sales representatives in the biomedical and healthcare industry.
Lulus SPM/SPMV dengan sekurang-kurangnya lima (5) kepujian dalam subjek berikut
Bahasa Melayu
Matematik
Sains / Teknikal**
Dan dua (2) subjek lain serta sekurang-kurangnya lulus Bahasa Inggeris.
**Fizik / Kimia / Biologi / Sains/Sains Tambahan/lain-lain mata pelajaran teknikal
Memiliki Sijil IKM / ILP / IKBN atau dari Institusi yang diiktiraf oleh Senat atau Sijil-sijil yang diiktiraf oleh senat Universiti dengan memperolehi sekurang-kurangnya CGPA 2.00 dan sekurang-kurangnya lulus dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu di peringkat SPM
Mempunyai Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Tahap 3 yang diiktiraf oleh
MLVK; dan
lulus SPM/SPMV dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya satu kredit
Menyambung pelajaran ke peringkat Diploma dalam bidang yang sama
Sekiranya perlu, Universiti Kuala Lumpur harus menyediakan program bridging sebagai program pengiukuhan bagi pelajar yang beralih dari sektor kemahiran kepada sektor akademik.
