COURSE OVERVIEW

UniKL RCMP is fully equipped with laboratories as well as other facilities needed to educate tomorrow's doctor's I a way that is contemporary and highly relevant to their medical careers. Upon completion of the MBBS programme, graduates will work in approved hospitals, undertaking training as interns. The MBBS (Universiti Kuala Lumpur) programme will be conducted for five years at UniKL RCMP campus in Ipoh, Perak. The distinctive aspect of this programme is its curriculum which is based on the University of Sheffield UK MBChB medical programme. MBBS (Universiti Kuala Lumpur) students at UniKL RCMP will be taught by full-time academic staff who bring with them years of experience in the field of medicine. The are complemented by senior clinicians and specialists from Hospital Ipoh and other government and private hospitals in Perak who are equally enthusiastic in sharing their vast knowledge and experience with the students.

STPM - Grade B in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics). (*Grade B+ for Vinayaka program)

 

A-Level - Grade B each in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics).

 

Matriculation/Foundation/Pre-Medical Course - CGPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00) in 3 subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. (*CGPA 3.50 for Vinayaka program)

 

SAM/ MUFY / AUSMAT / UNSW Foundation / HSC Sydney Australia / Trinity College Foundation / Western Australia Curriculum Council / VCE Australia Year 12 - Aggregate or average of 80% in 3 subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics) or 80% ATAR. (* 85% for Vinayaka program)

 

Canadian Pre-U (CPU)/Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP) - Average of 80% in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. (* 85% for Vinayaka)

 

International Baccalaureate (IB) - 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 1 at Standard Level, and attained a minimum score of 4 each in - Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

 

American High School with Advanced Placement (AP) - Grade 4 each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

 

NCEA Level 3 / New Zealand Bursary - Average of 80% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (or Mathematics). (* 85% for Vinayaka Program)

 

Indian Pre-University - Average of 70% in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics).

 

Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) - B4 each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Additional Mathematics.

 

• Diploma in Health Sciences - CGPA 3.50 (out of 4.00). Provided the course is not less than 2 years in the same institution.

 

• Degree in Medical Sciences - CGPA 3.30 (out of 4.00).

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

Applicants should possess a minimum of five (5) Grade B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject in SPM; OR Five (5) Grade B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject in O-Level.

 

Applicants shall have also attained a credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Malaysia and English at SPM or its equivalent.

 

Must have attempted Malaysian University English Test (MUET) and obtained minimum Band 4 or equivalent

 

Pass the written exam and selection interview (if required).

 

Applicants must have no serious physical or mental illness; and / or serious communicable disease(s) as per Malaysian Medical Council's Fitness To Practice guidelines.
