Faculty of Medicine, who is now aged 35 years, was established on 30th May 1972 as a medical institution to carry out activities to teach medical courses and nursing, medical research and clinical services, under the direction of a dean. At first, medical courses conducted for medical students and medical services provided by the lecturers do in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) used as a teaching hospital.In 1997, the Hospital UKM (HUKM) was developed as a teaching hospital for students of the Faculty of Medicine, UKM. HUKM administrative structure separated from the faculty and the chief was the Director of the Hospital. At the start HUKM established, Dean and Director positions held by an officer of the hospital, but since 1998, the Faculty of Medicine has a distinctive and UKM Dekannya also have its own director.
