Computer science (CS) is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. CS is a fast-moving field that brings together many disciplines, including mathematics, programming, engineering, the natural sciences and linguistics. UKM’s Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) was a pioneer of computer science in Malaysia as FIST is the first ICT faculty in Malaysia and continues to lead its development since her establishment in 1994. To date, UKM is among the top 100 varsity in Asia (Times Higher Learning) and top 3 research university in Malaysia. FIST’s CS program is broad and deep – giving students the desired skills to solve problems and to create future technology as a computer scientist that specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems.
