This bachelor programme provides the candidates with sound applied and technical knowledge in the areas of accounting, in particular and commerce, in general. The programme’s specialization in Islamic Finance is geared mainly towards developing the ability of students to understand the concepts, principles and practices governing the operation of Islamic Finance comprehensively. In order to ensure market relevance, eminent scholars and industry practitioners from our strategic partner Amanie Nexus will monitor and provide necessary advice and recommendations for internships and future attachments / job opportunities. This programme also offers the chance to candidates who aim to build a career in the world of Islamic Finance which is much lacking in the country. The graduates produced from this programme should be able to fulfill the national requirement for quality human capital, which in turn could contribute towards accelerating growth leading to a high income nation in 2020.
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Bachelor's Programme: Pass Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in two (2) subjects; and pass Mathematics in SPM (or its equivalent); OR Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with Grade Jayyid and pass Mathematics in SPM (or its equivalent); OR Pass Matriculation/Foundation/Pre University from any recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 AND pass Mathematics in SPM (or its equivalent); OR Pass Diploma in ‘Muamalat’ and ‘Islamic Finance’ with minimum CGPA of 2.50. Admission with CGPA below than 2.50 (not less than 2.00) can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR A recognized Diploma in any disciplines with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and pass Mathematics in SPM (or its equivalent); OR Pass BTEC Level 4 & 5 and pass SPM with at least three (3) credits in any subjects (or its equivalent); OR Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government; OR Through Open Entry in which candidates must meet these requirements: Aged at least 21 years old with minimum qualification of Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) and pass a rigorous internal assessment for Mathematics.
