The Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature at Xiamen University Malaysia began recruiting students in September 2020. The programme aims to equip students with a strong language foundation, broad knowledge, an international outlook, and an adaptable attitude to work. Students receive training in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and intercultural communication. They study fundamental theories in English language and literature, gaining insight into the history and culture of English-speaking countries, linguistics, second language acquisition, and translation. They also learn to appreciate and analyse literary works and various language phenomena. Courses in French and German are available to expand their linguistic and cultural perspectives.

In 2024, the first batch of students graduated. Among them, 78% pursued further studies at prestigious institutions such as Oxford University, London’s Global University, the National University of Singapore, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester, the University of Hong Kong, and Beijing Foreign University. The remaining graduates secured employment in Malaysia and China.
