The scope of research within medical science is vast, encompassing fields such as basic biology, oncology, pharmacology, radiotherapy, and more.<br /><br />Aligned with the mission and vision of the department, research within this programme is concentrated around four key focus areas:<br /><br />Diseases: Enhancing our understanding of diseases by investigating their underlying causes, molecular pathways, and the genes involved. This foundational knowledge aids in the development of innovative diagnostic methods.<br /><br />Therapy &amp; Cures: Exploring the application of modern technologies and natural resources to address medical challenges. This includes conducting &ldquo;proof of concept&rdquo; studies and prototyping approaches to develop new therapies.<br /><br />Epidemiology: Studying the distribution patterns and effects of diseases within communities, with the goal of preventing future occurrences. This includes observational studies on disease distribution and analytical studies examining the effects of diseases.<br /><br />Sustainable Well-being: Fostering human health and life satisfaction across all ages, by addressing factors such as ageing, nutrition, climate change, and the physical, mental, and social aspects of health.<br /><br />The Master in Medical Science programme is offered in partnership with Lancaster University, UK. Upon successful completion, graduates will be awarded two prestigious certificates, one from each of Sunway University and Lancaster University, further enhancing their credentials and global recognition in the field of medical science.</span></p>

Master in Medical Science

Foundation is a pre-university course offered to the students prior to their university degree education. The Foundation Course can be taken up by students internally at any local university as well as in partnership with the partnering overseas universities. The Foundation Course is usually of one year duration and includes all the key concepts that a student would be going through in brief during their graduation or bachelor degree program. 
The minimum eligibility for enrolling in a Foundation Program will be SPM from any recognized private or government school in Malaysia.
