Master of Malay Language Education (SPBM) program serves as a catalyst for the development of Malay language education, which is currently oriented toward interdisciplinary (dissolving boundaries within conventional disciplines) and multidisciplinary (the simultaneous study of two or more conventional disciplines) approaches. The SPBM curriculum is designed to offer students more flexible opportunities to explore and acquire knowledge, skills, and pedagogical competencies in the Malay language, driven by sophisticated advancements in information and communication technology.

SPBM will also support and guide students in planning, executing, and evaluating research in Malay language education, while simultaneously raising awareness of national and international issues. The program provides opportunities for students to evaluate various innovative teaching and learning strategies, approaches, methods, and techniques. The offering of the SPBM program aligns with OUM’s mission to expand access to open, flexible, and quality virtual education, as well as to create lifelong learning opportunities at a competitive and affordable cost.

Furthermore, SPBM aims to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, skilled, credible, efficient, and possess advanced competencies in the field of Malay language education. In line with this, the SPBM program seeks to democratize access to education globally. This program is made available to as many students as possible who meet the minimum entry requirements, including those who have not previously had the opportunity to pursue a similar program.
