Academic Requirements

<p style="text-align: justify;">The New Era University College started as New Era College in 1998. The college was the outcome of many years of effort and unwavering support from the Chinese community. On 30 December 2016, New Era was upgraded to university college status by the Ministry of Higher Education. With that NEUC is now ready and able to play an even bigger role as a provider of quality community-orientated tertiary education to serve not only the needs of the community but also that of the whole nation.</p>

A Pre Degree Course or PUC is the first choice of all those candidates who are looking out to enter into a degree course after school education.  The PUC degrees are specially very useful for all those candidates who are opting for a 10 year school and move on to the degree courses after their 2 years of PUC completed from any junior college.</p><h3 class="common-heading">Opportunities for Career Growth after PUC</h3><p class="common-text">Those who successfully apply for the PUC after their 10 years of schooling are ready to apply for several streams of degree courses through the government organized common entrance test. <p>The Bachelor in Early Childhood Education consists of two core components: early childhood education and child care or nurseries. The aim of this course is to equip students with theoretical and professional knowledge in the subject of education as well as to provide them practical skills for work in private or government kindergartens, child care centres or nurseries.</p>
<p>Students will be exposed to various areas of study such as nursery, curriculum planning, teacher training, management, administration, editing and designing for institution of early childhood education or child care centres, localized multicultural education, and special education needs and learning disabilities. This course also includes professional theory and skills training such as music, psychology, infant and child care, fine art and early childhood education curriculum design. There will be two periods of internship where students do practice in actual situations.</p>
