Sports Science

The Diploma in Sport Science programme offers the opportunity for you to pursue your interests in athletics. You will develop in-depth knowledge of the key factors in sports, exercise and health through the science perspective. As a student of sport science, you would be looking into how exercise programmes and activities affect our health, and also physical activity as treatment and prevention of diseases.

Passed SPM/equivalent, with Credit in Malay, English, Mathematics, one Science subject (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science), and one (1) other subject; OR GCE O-Level or equivalent, with Grade C in English, Mathematics, one (1) Science subject (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science), and two (2) other subjects; OR Passed Certificate (MQF Level 3) related to Health Sciences, with 2.75 CGPA; OR Polytechnic Certificate (MQF Level 3) in related fields, with 2.00 CGPA; OR Passed Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in related fields, and passed SPM with one (1) Credit; OR Passed MARA Skills Institute Certificate (MQF Level 3) in related fields, with 2.00 CGPA; OR Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in three (3) subjects; OR Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

In driving and transforming MSU towards excellence, financial assistance has been provided to outstanding or underprivileged students, inclusive of those from lower middle-income nations, to acquire quality education. The funds are distributed through various means including collaborative efforts between MSU and several public and private institutional partners. Besides tuition fees assistance is also provided for meals, housing, transportation and educational resources subject to applicants socio-economic background. All scholarships, sponsorship and financial aid are either offered through the MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU) or MSU through the following scheme:
1. Presidents Scholarship
MSU&rsquo;s very own scholarship is one such scheme that has over the years benefited lots of students. This is an award given to students who exhibit exemplary academic achievements and come from an economically challenged background
2. MSU Outstanding Rewards Scholarship (MORE)
MORE or MSU Outstanding Rewards Scholarship is initiated as an incentive to well-rounded students who are excels in academic with outstanding achievement in extra-curricular activities and have represented the state or school in any competition
3. Joint Scholarships
Joint scholarship schemes such as The Star Education Fund and Sin Chew Education Fund are some examples of MSU&rsquo;s involvement in ensuring the less fortunate gets the opportunity to continue their tertiary education at MSU.
