Islamic Finance

The Bachelor in Islamic Banking programme is designed to equip you with the fundamentals and methodology of Islamic banking and financial system, providing you with comprehensive understanding of the key concepts and operating principles in Islamic banking as compared with conventional banking, and preparing you to meet the demands of the Islamic banking industry. i. A recognised Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; ORii. A pass in STPM with TWO full passes with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or its equivalent and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; ORiii. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid and a pass in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; ORiv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in MIF or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent; (Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to an internal assessment process) ORv. Any other Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5; ORvi. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government.Note:i. The pass in Mathematics at SPM level for candidate (i), (ii) and (iii) can be waived should the qualification contains Mathematics with equivalent / higher achievement.ii. Students is required to undergo Arabic language enhancement course at the beginning of the programme except to candidate with a pass in Arabic language at STPM/ STAM/ Matriculation/ Foundation/ Diploma or equivalent/ higher.iii. Students must pass the Arabic enhancement course as a prerequisite to related core courses. However, this still allows students to take both core and non-core courses that do not require Arabic language enhancement course.iv. Credit for Arabic language enhancement course is additional to the programme and can be considered for the graduating credit.

Internal Scholarships Provided by MSU
In driving and transforming MSU towards excellence, financial assistance has been provided to outstanding or underprivileged students, inclusive of those from lower middle-income nations, to acquire quality education. The funds are distributed through various means including collaborative efforts between MSU and several public and private institutional partners. Besides tuition fees assistance is also provided for meals, housing, transportation and educational resources subject to applicants socio-economic background. All scholarships, sponsorship and financial aid are either offered through the MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU) or MSU through the following scheme:
1. Presidents Scholarship
MSU&rsquo;s very own scholarship is one such scheme that has over the years benefited lots of students. This is an award given to students who exhibit exemplary academic achievements and come from an economically challenged background
2. MSU Outstanding Rewards Scholarship (MORE)
MORE or MSU Outstanding Rewards Scholarship is initiated as an incentive to well-rounded students who are excels in academic with outstanding achievement in extra-curricular activities and have represented the state or school in any competition
3. Joint Scholarships
Joint scholarship schemes such as The Star Education Fund and Sin Chew Education Fund are some examples of MSU&rsquo;s involvement in ensuring the less fortunate gets the opportunity to continue their tertiary education at MSU.

Those students who take Mathematics &amp; Science in their PUC or Intermediate can enroll themselves in a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) course.
