The Diploma in Nursing is a 3-year (6 semesters) full-time programme. The emphasis of this programme is on the ‘art’ of nursing (caring) for individuals with health problems. The ‘science’ of nursing is integrated throughout the programme to enable the students to understand the rationale of care provided to clients.
Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will be eligible to sit for the Malaysian Nursing Board Examination to be licensed as a Registered Nurse.
The programme has full accreditation status from Malaysian Quali?cation Agency. The diploma is recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) and is accepted by Nursing Boards of many countries.
Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia(SPM) or “EQUIVALENT” with (5) credits
Mandatory credits in:
Mathematics (Elementary or Additional or Modern)
Either one (1) of the credit below:
Chemistry and pass in Biology
Physics and pass in Biology
Credit in two(2) others subjects
Pass in English
‘O’ Levels (Science-based): Minimum 5 Credits; inclusive of Mathematics and General Science/Biology/Chemistry
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (Science-based): Minimum average of 50%; inclusive of minimum 60% in Mathematics and General Science/Biology/Chemistry
HSC / SAM / CPU / Other qualifications deemed equivalent to STPM/A-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (Science-based): Minimum average of 50%; inclusive of minimum 60% in Mathematics and General Science/Biology/Chemistry
WAEC Senior School Certificate / NECO: Minimum 5Cs; inclusive of Science and Mathematics aand Biology/Chemistry English Language Requirements:
IELTS Band 5.5;
TOEFL 550 (Written-based), 213(Computer-based), 79-80(internet-based)
