The Diploma in Interior Architecture course offered by the School of Architecture and Built Environment is a 2 and a half years programme in the discipline and professional practice of Interior Architecture. The course emphasizes on delivering professional standard knowledge impartment, the understanding and skills in resolving and communicating design, technical and constructional drawing, practical and technological skills in its application to Interior Architecture projects.Students are required to undergo a compulsory Industry Experience attachment for a minimum duration of 6 months , to learn and familiarize themselves with the working environment of the building and construction industry.The Diploma in Interior Architecture course offered by the School of Architecture and Built Environment is a 3-year full time diploma programme in the discipline and professional practice of Interior Architecture.The course emphasises on delivering professional standard knowledge impartment, the understanding and skills in resolving and communicating design, technical and constructional drawing, practical and technological skills in its application to Interior Architecture projects.
SPMV/SPM/‘O’ Levels (Arts/Science stream): Pass SPM with minimum 3 Credits (grade ‘C’ for O-level)
SKM / SKK: Pass SKM/SKK level 3 in related field AND *Pass SPM with min 1 credit
Community College (Level 3, MQF)
Pass Community College Certificate (Level 3 MQF) in the related field AND *Pass SPM with min 1 subject OR
Pass Community College Certificate (Level 3 MQF) with CGPA 2.0 in the related field
STPM: Pass with minimum ‘C’ grade (CGPA 2.0) for 1 subject
STAM: Pass with (Magbul grade)
UEC (Commerce/Science stream): Pass with minimum grade ‘B’ for 3 credits
A-Level: Minimum Grade ‘D’ for 1 subject
SAM/ CPU:
SAM - Minimum average of 50% in 5 subjects inclusive of Maths
CPU - Minimum average of 50% in 6 subjects inclusive of Maths
Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Level by Malaysian Qualifications Agency: Minimum average of 50% inclusive of 50% for Maths
Any other equivalent qualifications:
Pass in drawing/engineering drawing at SPM or equivalent OR
Pass Portfolio test for those who failed or never take the drawing paper at SPM or equivalent
Recognition: Upon successfully completion of the Diploma programme, students will gain direct entry into Year 2 (semester 3) of B.Sc. (Hons.) in Architecture, UCSI University
Note: *Art Requirement: All applicant must pass Art Education/ Engineering Drawing/ related subject at SPM/O level / equivalent OR Pass Portfolio test in replacement of art subject if applicable English Language Requirements:
A distinction (A+, A or A-) in the English Language subject at SPM/UEC level; or
MUET Band 5; or
A score of 196 (computer-based) / 525 (writing-based) / 69-70 (internet-based) in TOEFL; or
Band 5.5 in IELTS.
In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, student may be required to undertake additional English module(s) prior to or concurrently with the undergraduate programme, based on the University’s decision. * International students holding equivalent academic qualifications but which are not conducted in English, are required to sit for the English Placement Test, which may result in the taking of the Certificate in English programme (1 to 10 months).
