As the financial market is getting more volatile these days, enterprise risk management becomes an essential component of big corporations. To furnish the demand for personnel of this profession. The BSc (Hons) Actuarial Science & Finance was developed. The objective of this programme is to produce graduate competent in knowledge and skills for financial investment management, assets valuation and risk management for various financial assets such as equities, bond, FOREX, commodities and derivatives. The programme exposes students to both theoretical and practical approaches to investment analysis, security analysis, and portfolio and risk management. In addition, the programme also provides comprehensive study of money markets, financial instruments, financial planning, banking and corporate financial management, the essential working knowledge for executives in the financial industry.
UCSI Foundation: Pass (Inclusive of relevant Maths subject)
STPM: 2 principals (inclusive of a Mathematics subject)
A-Level: 2 principals (inclusive of a Mathematics subject)
UEC: 5 credits (including mathematics)
CPU: Average of 60% in 6 subjects (inclusive of 60% in a Mathematics subject)
National Matriculation: CGPA 2.0 (inclusive of C grade in a Mathematics subject)
International Baccalaureate: Overall score of 26/42 (inclusive of 5 out 7 score in a Mathematics subject)
Diploma / Advance Diploma / Degree / equivalent: To be assessed by faculty on case-by-case basis. Credit transfers are possible with the submission of academic transcripts and course syllabus
Other Year 12 Equivalent: Average of 60% (inclusive 60% in a Mathematics subject)
Minimum Admission Qualification for Foundation Programme
SPM / O-Level: 5 Credits (inclusive of a Mathematics subject)
UEC: 4 credits (inclusive of a Mathematics subject)
Other Year 11 Equivalent: Average of 60% (inclusive of 60% in a Mathematics subject) English Requirements:
Minimum score of Band 5 in MUET; Band 5.5 in IELTS; or a score of 213 (Computer-based) / 550 (Written-based) / 79 - 80 (Internet-based) in TOEFL.
Students are exempted from the above English requirements if they possess any of the following examination grades in their English subjects:
SPM (A+, A or A-); UEC (A1 or A2); a credit in O-Level (minimum C6); or 4 out of 7 in International Baccalaureate (IB)
Qualification/Examination is of English curriculum
If English Language requirements are not fulfilled, additional English module(s) may be taken at UCSI, concurrently with the above undergraduate programme
