Course Structure

Strand 1 Health Sciences: Anatomy & Physiology 1&2, Microbiology & Parasitology, Nutrition, Pharmacology

Strand 2 Nursing Sciences: Fundamentals of Nursing 1&2, Skill Laboratory 1,2,3,4 & 5 Environmental Health, Medical & Surgical Nursing 1, 2, 3 & 4, Communicable Diseases, Obstetric & Gynaecology Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Emergency & Disaster Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing, Gerontology Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Nursing Management, Nursing Research 1 & 2, Nursing Ethics and Etiquettes, Medical- Legal Nursing

Strand 3 Behavioural Sciences:

Communication and Public Relations, Psychology, Sociology, Islamic or Moral Study, Malaysian Studies

Assessment

Regular in-house student assessments are conducted throughout the course. The students will sit for their Final Examination conducted by Nursing Board Malaysia.

Upon graduation, Diploma in Nursing students will be able to register with Malaysian Nursing Board.Upon completing the course, students are expected to:

Link theory with practice when providing quality nursing care to patients undergoing curative, restorative, preventive and rehabilitative procedures.
Realise his/her role as a member of the health care team who is involved in the total management of patients.
Adopt the correct attitude necessary for the effective practice of nursing.

Throughout the 3 years of training, students will be placed in wards and community clinic setting to gain clinical experience that will correlate theory with practice.
