Established in 1994, the Department of English emphasizes English language learning and applications. Its Diploma in English provides our students with a wide range of courses and options in English-learning and English literature. The design of these courses is founded on the two pillars of learning: system and skill frameworks. The “skills” framework enables our students to acquire competency in reading, writing, listening and speaking, while the “systems” framework (e.g., the grammar of reading, the grammar of vocabulary, etc) is the bedrock upon which the various skills are built and applied.
