While there are plenty of scholarships available in Malaysia, there’s only a few that’s immensely popular among students.
Many people apply for scholarships because of the benefits that scholarships can provide to some people. If you can afford tertiary education without a scholarship, then that’s okay! Although, getting a scholarship is much more beneficial than just self-sponsoring your tertiary education. There are many benefits in applying for a scholarship and these benefits are why some people choose to apply for scholarships. Let’s talk about some of these benefits.
First of all, it reduces the financial burden. University fees are only getting more and more expensive. So having a scholarship that reduces the fees you have to pay or even a full scholarship that pays for all of your tuition fees will greatly reduce or even get rid of the financial burden you would have to deal with. Secondly, scholarships offer an advantage. Getting a scholarship would be something great to add to your list of accomplishments. You could even add it to your CV and employers would immediately notice it, causing the chances of you getting hired to increase exponentially.
Lastly, scholarships can decrease future debt. You might be taking a student loan to get into university, but with a scholarship, you can graduate without having the need to pay back university fees and student loans. This is because your scholarship would be paying your fees for you. Thus, you can graduate without worrying about accumulating debt.
