The Public Service Department (JPA) has announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Yang di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA), an esteemed award supporting Malaysian students pursuing full-time Master’s (Research) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) studies locally and abroad.
Criteria
General Requirements:
Applicants must be Malaysian citizens.
Age limit: Must be 35 years old or younger as of 1 January 2025.
Must comply with the latest sponsorship policies set by JPA.
Specific Requirements:
- For Master’s Degree Applicants:
Must hold a recognised Bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.75, First-Class Honours, or an equivalent qualification.
- For PhD Applicants:
Must possess both a recognised Bachelor's and Master's degree, each with a minimum CGPA of 3.75, First-Class Honours, or an equivalent qualification.
- Additional Criteria:
Must have secured an unconditional offer from an approved institution or have already commenced full-time studies within the application year.
Master’s programmes must be research-focused, requiring the completion of a research paper, dissertation, or thesis.
Applicants should exhibit active engagement in creative and innovative fields such as writing, artistic work, or technological inventions.
