Overview

The Tertiary Education Sponsorship Programme is a form of convertible loans under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for STPM , Matriculation/foundation/Diploma graduates 2019 and equivalent who have received an offer to pursue their first degree of education in selected fields and Institutions of Higher Education (IPT) for August 2020 intake. Students who are currently pursuing their undergraduate study may also apply.

Criteria

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Malaysian
Applicant and either one of the parents are Bumiputera
Meet the family Sosio Economic Status (SES) eligibility requirements set by MARA
Parents total taxable income is not more than RM180,000 a year
If parents are self-employed or working overseas, their average monthly (gross) income must be less than RM 15,000 per month.
Parents/Guardians and applicant are not blacklisted by MARA.
Applicants are not receiving any financial support/sponsorship from any agency for the current study programme.
Free from any chronic / contagious / disease that requires follow-up treatments.
Applicant’s age limit should not exceed 40 years old at the time of application.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

New Student
- Obtain CGPA > 2.75 in Foundation / Matriculation / Preparatory / STPM and equivalent
Existing Student
- Obtain CGPA > 2.75 in previous semester; AND
- The remaining years of study is not less than a year
Others
- Pass SPM with a credit in Bahasa Melayu
- Academic requirement for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy programmes must meet the criteria set by professional boards

Amount Info

This is convertible loan which means students may apply for a reduction of repayment after graduation. In addition, these loans are not subject to any interest rates.

How to apply for Tertiary Education Sponsorship Programme (TESP 2020)

The application is open online at http://www.mara.gov.my from 27th August 2020 until 13th November 2020. An application is deemed complete if all information is provided. Applicants are not required to print and submit any documents to MARA until further notice. This sponsorship offer will be published in MARA website at http://www.mara.gov.my.
