The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship (QECS) 2022/2023 is open to Commonwealth citizens who wish to pursue a master's degree in low- or middle -income Commonwealth countries. This scholarship will be fully funded by the scholarship fund.


Applicant must meet all the below requirements

Applicants must meet all of the requirements below

  • Citizens (or those holding refugee status) in Commonwealth countries are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants must apply for the QECS award in a country other than their country of origin/country of citizenship.
  • There is no upper age limit to be eligible to receive the QECS Award.
  • You must have completed your degree and have graduated with a 2: 1 equivalent at the time of application. As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide a copy of your final transcript and degree certificate.
  • The QECS Awards are only hosted by low- and middle -income countries. Therefore this award will not be hosted in Canada, the UK or Australia.
  • QECS is available for master’s degrees only.
  • QECS will only finance the Undergraduate Course for two years.

Amount Info

Award recipients receive:

  • Tuition fees are fully funded
  • Subsistence allowance (stipend) during the award period
  • Economic flights return to their host country
  • Arrival allowance
  • Research support grants - on request only; subject to approval
  • If selected, all allowances will be stated in your award letter.
  • Candidates may have additional funding not provided by QECS, however you will need to obtain approval from QECS (CSFP Unit) before any further funding is received.
  • All courses conducted through this scholarship must be taught in English and therefore additional funding for this purpose is not required.
