Overview

The MOE Taiwan Scholarship Program encourages outstanding Malaysian students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Taiwan by awarding each recipient tuition and miscellaneous expenses of NTD 40,000 each semester. Recipients undertaking undergraduate studies will also be granted a monthly stipend of NTD 15,000 and recipients who undertake postgraduate studies will get a stipend of NTD 20,000 per month.

Applicant must meet all the below requirements

Applicants must meet all of the requirements below

  • Applicants must be Malaysian citizens with at least STPM, UEC, Certified Diploma,
  • A-Level, Foundation, Matriculation program or any academic equivalent qualification, with an excellent academic record, and of good character.
  • Individuals who fall under any of the following categories are not eligible to apply:
  • ROC citizens or overseas Chinese students or holding an ROC Permanent Resident Certificate.
  • In the event of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
  •  Has and is maintaining student status at any university/college in Taiwan or who has registered to start studies at a university/college. This restriction does not apply to students who will graduate after graduation in that year. They are eligible to apply for a Scholarship to further their studies to a higher level.
  • Study in Taiwan for a degree at the same level and intend to enroll.
  • Exchange students or dual/joint students who have been admitted to a university/college in Taiwan in accordance with the academic cooperation agreement between the university/college and the university/college abroad.
  • Someone who has been the recipient of five Taiwan Scholarships years. 
  • Has received a Taiwan Scholarship or MOE Huayu before 
  • Has received any scholarship or other subsidy from any Taiwan Government Institution (organization) or any educational institution in Taiwan, other than any subsidy provided to Taiwan Scholarship recipients by their university/college to cover the outstanding amount if the total tuition and other fees exceed the scholarship limit.
