A doctoral course is, usually ofabout  3-6 years and depends upon the person pursuing it for its extension or reduction in the total number of years to study.  The doctoral degree programs can be taken up from any private or public university these days. The public or government funded universities would ask the students to sit for an entrance test in order to take admissions. On the contrary,  private university can offer you admissions simply based on your existing qualifications and other notable skills as may be relevant to the course.
