Overview

Based on Fujitsu’s corporate vision and as a member of the Asia-Pacific region, Fujitsu established the Fujitsu Scholarship program as one of our social contribution efforts in 1985 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Fujitsu’s foundation. The objective of this program is to contribute to creating a prosperous future in the Asia-Pacific region through human resource development by providing future global leaders with the opportunity to study. Of the many who apply each year, the successful applicants have, in addition to English language skills, good academic records and work experience, the intention to contribute to the advancement of their societies. After completion of the program, the scholarship recipients are expected to broaden their minds further and serve and contribute to the betterment of their communities to shape a prosperous tomorrow.

  1. Qualification
    • A bachelor's degree or a degree equivalent to a four-year standard baccalaureate degree in any discipline from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. 
  2. Experience
    • A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience (five years preferred) at the time of application
  3. Language
    • A minimum TOEFL score of 577/233/90 (paper/computer/Internet), TOEIC score of 750, or IELTS (Academic) overall band test result of 6.5 or higher from a test taken within the last five years at the time of application. The following applicants are exempt from submitting an English proficiency test score:
      • Applicants whose native language is English and who are from one of the following countries: the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, or Singapore.
      • Applicants who have received a bachelor's or advanced degree within the last five years from the time of application from an accredited or recognized college or university located in one of the following six countries: the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, or Singapore. To be qualified for this exemption, you must submit the transcript or graduate certificate for this degree. There are no exceptions.
  4. Country
    • Applicants must be a resident of the state of Hawaii, U.S.A., or a citizen of one of the following : Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam.
    • Applicants who are residents of the State of Hawaii will be requested to prove Hawaii residency. For details, refer to Definition of Hawaii Residency.

The Fujitsu Scholarship benefits include tuition and fees for the Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge program.

  • Stipend Toward Living Expenses
  • Airfare:
    • Fujitsu Ltd. will provide a round-trip air ticket to Japan where the program starts and ends, as well as ticket to participate Hawaii, Thailand, and Singapore Modules of the program. The selection of the air carrier and travel agent, including itinerary, is at the discretion of Fujitsu Ltd.
  • Housing Arrangements:
    • JAIMS will assist in locating appropriate housing in Honolulu for participants. Fujitsu Ltd. will provide and pay for participant accommodations in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore.
  • Visa Arrangements:
    • When applicable, participant will be assisted in obtaining the M-1 Student visa to enter the U.S. and Japan entry visa for a short stay. The expense of obtaining the visas is the financial responsibility of the participant.

How to apply for Fujitsu Scholarship

To apply for the Fujitsu Scholarship, read the instructions thoroughly and follow the steps listed below:

Application Schedule

Application period: December 26, 2018 - March 8, 2019

The above period is for the 40th Fujitsu Scholarship Program for the 2019 Fall Course intake. All required documents must be received during the application period.

Application Process

The admission requirements, application documents, application deadline, and selection process for applying to Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge with Fujitsu Scholarship and without Fujitsu Scholarship are different.

For those who would like to participate in Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge with Fujitsu Scholarship, follow the instructions below.

For those applying for Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge without receiving Fujitsu Scholarship, please follow the instructions on the Fujitsu-JAIMS Foundation website.

  1. Register through the Web
    1. Check Eligibility: Check your eligibility before applying for the Fujitsu Scholarship program by checking the Qualifications.
    2. Check Documentation: Check Details of the Required Documentation to confirm that you are able to meet the documentation requirements.
    3. Register Your Information: Fill out the Web Registration Form. You must register during the application period to which you are submitting your application documents.
    4. Download the Application Forms: You will receive an e-mail upon registering with links for downloading the Fujitsu Scholarship Application Form and the Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge Application Form.
  2. Prepare Application Documents
    1. Fujitsu Scholarship Application Form
    2. Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge Application Form
    3. Photocopy of TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS (Academic) score report
    4. Official Academic Transcript or Graduate Certificate in English (No Photocopies)
    5. All documents must be received during application period.
    6. Applicants who fail to submit all documents during application period will not be considered.
    7. Submitted application documents, such as transcript and graduate certificate, will not be returned.
  3. Submit Application Documents
    1. E-mail the completed application PDF files saved on your computer to the email address contact-application@cs.jp.fujitsu.com. You must use the same e-mail address which you submitted at the time of registration. 
    2. Do not contact us to ask whether your application documents have been received. Keep your sent e-mail as proof of submitting the PDF format of the application forms.
    3. Please set to receive our e-mail. Fujitsu is not responsible for any failure of e-mail delivery.
    4. Print out the completed application PDF forms (one copy for each application). Application forms may be printed double-sided.
    5. After printing out the application forms, sign them in the area marked "Applicant's Signature" on both application forms.
