1) FIRST DEGREE

• Candidates are Malaysian citizens;
• Age not more than 21 years old in the year of application;
• Candidates get at least a CGPA 3.60 and above at Basic Science/ Matriculation/ STPM/ Diploma level, Scale 1180/1600 for all tests in SAT, 40/45 in International Baccalaureate (IB) / get Grade A in all A-Level subjects;
• The students who are in the final semester at Basic Science/ Matriculation/ STPM/ Diploma level, Scale 1180/ 1600 for all tests in SAT, 40/45 IB Diploma and A-Level;
• Students have not yet received any scholarship/sponsorship/agreement from any sponsor; and
• The remaining period of study is at least 12 months in Semester 1, Session 2026/2027 for applicants who are currently studying for a First Degree.

2) MASTER'S DEGREE

• Candidates are Malaysian citizens;
• Age not more than 28 years old at the time of application;
• Candidates have received excellent results at the First Degree level in the field of pure science i.e. obtaining at least a CGPA of 3.75 or above or First Class, and the mode of study must be in full research mode;
• Candidates do not have any contractual obligations from any sponsor during their previous studies or the sponsor is willing to waive the contractual obligations if offered this scholarship;
• Candidates who are currently serving in any public or private sector and are ready to resign if offered this scholarship;
• The mode of study must be in research mode and full-time;
• Candidates are currently studying at the Master's level or have obtained a place to study in the field of pure science, either in the country or abroad based on the list of universities that have been set by the Ministry; and
• The remaining period of study is at least 12 months in Semester 1, Session 2026/2027 for applicants who are currently studying for a Master's degree.

3) DOCTORATE DEGREE (PHD)

• Candidates are Malaysian citizens;
• Age not more than 35 years old at the time of application;
• Candidates have received excellent results at Master's level and at least CGPA 3.75 at First Degree level and above or First Class or equivalent in pure science;
• Candidates do not have any contractual obligations from any sponsor during their previous studies, or the sponsor is willing to waive the contractual obligations if offered this scholarship;
• Candidates who are currently serving in any public or private sector and are ready to resign if offered this scholarship;
• Candidates currently studying at the Master's level will be considered but the mode of study must be in research mode and full-time;
• Candidates who are currently studying Ph.D or have obtained a place to study in the field of pure science, either in the country or abroad, will be considered based on the list of universities that have been set by the Ministry; and
• The remaining period of study is at least 12 months in Semester 1, Session 2026/2027 for applicants who are currently studying Ph.D.
