COURSE OVERVIEW

With 95% of the world’s trade handled by shipping, the maritime industry has a constant need for manpower with each requiring a captain and three navigation officers. With the continued growth of the world’s fleet, the demand for qualified officers will continue to increase over the next decade. As such, job prospects for self motivated, independent and adventurous youths are excellent to become a ship's captain. Students will be exposed with ship navigation and equip students with knowledge and relevant background for offshore and onshore career opportunities.

To produce quality graduates who are knowledgeable and competent in maritime industry specialising in navigation sector. Students will be exposed to ship navigation. This program will equip students with knowledge and relevant background for offshore and onshore career opportunities.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

 

Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) with 3 credits in any subject inclusive of Mathematics and any Science subject ;or

 

Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in 3 subjects inclusive of Mathematics and any Science subject ;or

 

Passed O-Level with Grade C in 3 subjects inclusive of Mathematics and any Science subject ;or

 

Passed Malaysian Skill Certificate Level 3 in related fields and;

 

1 credit in SPM/SPMV;

 

Further study in diploma in the same field;

 

Posses 1 year of working experience or at least join bridging programme for 1 semester as reinforcement program for students from skills/ technical to academic sector, or;

 

Passed Community College Certificate Level 3 MQF in related fields; and

 

1 credit in SPM/SPMV;

 

Further study in diploma in the same field;

 

Posses 1 year of working experience or at least join bridging programme for 1 semester as reinforcement program for students from skills/ technical to academic sector, or;

 

Passed Certificate Level 3 in related field with CGPA 2.00; or

 

Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in 1 subject

 

Passed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with Maqbool Rank; or

 

Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government;or

 

APEL with 3 years of working experience in Maritime field and experiences sailing in Deck, AND; Not Colour Blind. Foreign Students:
