The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Sciences is an applied, interdisciplinary research programme designed to develop the research capability and scholarly practice of those who aspire to become researchers in the field of Applied Sciences. The areas of study include but are not limited to Agricultural Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, Health Science, Microbiology and Materials Science. Graduates of this programme can work as research scientists, academics, senior managers or directors in both the public and private sectors. This programme provides an opportunity for candidates to extend their development beyond scholarly understanding and practice to include the capacity to conduct research within an area of interest in the field of Applied Sciences. The programme is intended for academic or professional staff (or graduate students) who may be teaching/working in higher education institutions or those who are engaged in, or moving towards, leadership roles within the higher education or professional sector.
A Master's degree in the related field that is accepted by the Nilai University Senate; OR
Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree that are accepted by the Nilai University Senate.
