COURSE OVERVIEW

MAHSA’s Post Basic Certificate in Renal Nursing programme is a 6 months programme, aimed to produce Renal Nurses who are professional, knowledgeable and competent in providing safe and skillful nursing care to end-stage renal disease patients. It will also prepare them to full fill their professional careers in a competitive global and local market. This programme is largely conducted at MAHSA University, and the clinical practices are in hospitals and clinics. Candidates will be supervised by our dedicated and experienced clinical instructors/preceptors. Upon successfully completing this programme, candidates will be awarded a “Post Basic Certificate in Renal Nursing” by MAHSA.

Detailed entry requirements

Certificate / Equivalent

  • Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for nurses OR;
  • Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia.

Experiences

  • Minimum two (2) years clinical working experience.

  • Possess two (2) months experience in haemodialysis.

Health Requirements

  • The candidate must be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner within one (1) week of commencement of programme.
  • The candidate with any of the following medical conditions cannot be admitted into the programme such as: HIV / AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Mental health disorders, Epilepsy, Colour blindness.
  • The candidate must not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinder nursing dexterity.
  • Pregnancy is not allowed throughout the course.
