MAHSA's Diploma in Medical Imaging is a highly technical and specialized 3-year programme for students who have completed SPM or its equivalent.
Medical Imaging or Radiography is the science of taking images of parts of the internal body to diagnose diseases and ailments, and includes X-rays, ultrasounds, CT Scans and MRI's. This programme is perfect for individuals who will enjoy working with scientific precision equipment and have a keen interest in diagnostic medicine.
Students will learn a broad range of biophysical and health sciences, and will thus acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of radio imaging equipment and procedures. This exciting programme will cover a diverse range of subjects, including basic anatomy, physiology, the fundamentals of medical imaging technology, basic computers, basic microbiology and pathology, basic biochemistry, medical and radiation physics, basics of pharmacology, radiographic photography, and radiographic techniques.
At the end of the programme, the student will be equipped with the expert knowledge and skills required to perform diagnostic tests through the use of radiation, a highly sought-after qualification in any good hospital and medical centre.
SPM or equivalent with 5 credits in the following subjects: Bahasa Malaysia; English; Mathematics - 1 Science subject (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science); any other 1 subject
GCE / O-Levels
GCE/0 Level or equivalent with 5 Grade C in the following subjects: English; Mathematics -1 Science subject (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science); any other 2 subjects
Certificate related to Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.75
Other equivalent qualification
