COURSE OVERVIEW

This programme aims to train the students to become competent Mechanical Engineer with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for a engineering career in industry or research.

Specifically, this programme is designed to give students the opportunity to:



  • Educate Mechanical Engineering student to be competent engineer in the working environment.


  • Promote an active interest in Mechanical Engineering and encourage the students to respond to changes and developments within the profession.


  • Provide knowledge and understanding of current theories and developments in Mechanical Engineering.


  • Enhance students’ understanding of the design and management processes relevant to Mechanical Engineering.


  • Provide students with an understanding of the importance of professionalism, management and problem solving techniques.


  • Allow progression in career and educational development giving opportunities to study for a post graduate level.




ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

 

  • STPM / A-Level / Equivalent: Pass with minimum Grade C in Mathematics and 1 relevant Science subject and pass in English in SPM/equivalent; or
  • UEC: Pass with minimum Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and 1 relevant Science subject, and pass in English; or
  • Matriculation / Foundation / Equivalent: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00 and credit in Mathematics and 1 relevant Science subject, and pass in English in SPM/Equivalent; or
  • Diploma in Engineering/Engineering Technology / Equivalent: Pass with minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
  • Diploma in Vocational / Technical / Skills / equivalent: Pass with minimum CGPA 2.00; or
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government 

 

International students must pass:

  • IELTS minimum Band 5.0; or
  • TOEFL minimum score of 500; or
  • Cambridge / Edexcel GCE A- Level; or
  • MUET with a minimum Band 3
