COURSE OVERVIEW

Interior Design is a professional discipline. It exists in the overall framework of the building industry with its own area of specialty and considerations primarily for the interior environment. Interior Design takes into consideration basic human needs and aspirations for living through its expressions of style, structure, function and form. It is a highly respected profession that responds to the needs of the building industry and corresponds to the social development, economic growth and prosperity of a country.

While responding to changes in the design environment, interior design also plays a vital role in ensuring the continual preservation of a country’s identity and heritage. Student will begin with a thorough training in the basic principles of building and design, and then move on to explore various areas of specialisation.

Academic Requirements

A pass in SPM/O-Level or its equivalent, with at least credits in THREE subjects, including Mathematics, English and any ONE subject related to science I technical/ vocational OR
A pass in STPM/A-Level or its equivalent, with passes in Mathematics, English and any ONE subject related to science I technical/ vocational at SPM level OR
A recognised Certificate In Built Environment or recognised equivalent qualifications, with minimum CGPA of 2.5; (Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 must have at least one year of relevant working experience). OR
Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia(SKM) Level 3 with one year of relevant working experience and a pass in SPM with minimum ONE credit. (HEPs are to offer bridging programme as enhancement if required) AND
English Proficiency Requirement for International student:

IELTS 4.0 OR TOEFL iBT 30-31 OR PBT 397 OR CAE 154(Cambridge Advance English) OR CPE 154(Cambridge Proficiency English) OR CFE 142-146(Cambridge First English) OR PTE 30(Pearson Test of English Academic) OR MUET Band 2
