COURSE OVERVIEW

The Postgraduate programme of the Kulliyyah of Laws is designed and embellished to address various burning issues pertaining to Islamic law, International laws, the influence of English Common Law and European Civil Law which are now widespread. No doubt, these areas are indispensable for Muslims in the era of globalization and digitalization. A legal professional is expected to be competitive with their respective systems around the world. The Kulliyyah preserves emphasis on comparative studies of the major legal system of the world. Pursuing an MCL at AIKOL equips students with the knowledge and skills needed in an increasingly competitive job market.  MCL programme offers three modes of study: by coursework, by coursework and dissertation, and by research. The courses of MCL run for a full year containing two semesters, with an annual intake, starting in September and February. Courses are run in the form of lectures and seminars. Our small size classes stimulate the students to get involve in class discussions. The staff are committed to attend to the needs of the student.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Law or Shari‘ah from universities recognized by the IIUM Senate with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00 or an equivalent grade.*or
  • Any other qualifications approved by the IIUM Senate.

English Language

  • TOEFL 550 or IELTS/EPT band 6.0
