This degree has been designed to provide the economics reasoning, quantitative skills and institutional knowledge required by financial economists to solve practical problems arising in finance. These skills should make graduates highly suited for further studies as well as for a career in investment banking or financial markets.
This degree offers you the opportunity to combine in-depth studies in economics and finance. It provides you with the analytical tools from the skills of mathematics, statistics, economics and econometrics together with the institutional knowledge required to work as a financial economist.

Option 1 2 A-Level/STPM passes and 3 O-Level/SPM credits (including Mathematics) Option 2 3 A-Level/STPM passes and O-Level/SPM credit in Mathematics Option 3 Minimum grade B6 in 5 (academic) subjects at UEC level and 3 (other subjects) O-Level/SPM credits (including Mathematics)
Option 4 5 O-Level/SPM credits (including Mathematics and English Language) Foundation Studies with GPA of 2.0 from HELP No exemptions granted for Foundation Economics, Mathematics and Statistics 18 years of age before 31 December in the year of application Option 5 3 A-Level passes (must include 1 pass with minimum grade D) or 3 STPM passes (must include 1 pass with minimum grade D for examinations taken before 2003, or minimum grade C+ for examinations taken after 2003) and O-Level/SPM credit in Mathematics
Option 6 2 A-Level passes and 3 STPM passes (must include 1 pass with minimum grade D for examinations taken before 2003, or minimum grade C+ for examinations taken after 2003) and O-Level/SPM credit in Mathematics Option 7 International Baccalaureate or South Australian Matriculation (score at least 80) or Canadian Pre-University (score at least 70%) or other qualifications recognised by the University of London For Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry degree programmes, students need to have a minimum of 5 Bs in all Science and Mathematics subjects at SPM level or its equivalent
Canadian Pre-University (min score 70 in 5 subjects)
Australian Pre-University (rank at least 80)
OR ANY OTHER pre-University qualification accepted by the University of London.
Candidates without SPM* credit in English should obtain IELTS (at least 6.0) or, TOEFL (at least 580) with TWE (at least 4.5).
