COURSE OVERVIEW

Cyber Security or the Security of Information Technology (IT Security) are regarded as techniques which are used to protected computers, hardware, software, networks, programs and electronic data from unauthorized access or attacks which are aimed for exploitation, and also from disruption or misdirection of the services they offer. These cyber-attacks are often aimed to change, access, or destroy sensitive information; interrupting normal business processes or extorting money from users. Implementing efficient cyber security measures is particularly demanding today in that there are more devices than people, and attackers are becoming more innovative.

Based on three Principles of Cyber Security (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) that are growing in significance because of increasing dependence on the Internet, computer systems, and wireless networks like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and due to the growth of smart devices, including smartphones, televisions and the various tiny devices that comprise the Internet of things (IoT). Because of its complexity, both in respect of technology and politics, it is also one of the main challenges of the contemporary world.

Diploma

Pass Diploma (MQF level 4) in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering or equivalent from PPT recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.50 minimum CGPA (for candidates with CGPA 2.50 below but more than 2.00 are acceptable through internal assessment process); OR

Pass Malaysian SKills Diploma (MQF level 4) in relevant field from PPT recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.00 minimum CGPA AND Pass SPM with credit in Mathematics; OR

Pass Executive Diploma (MQF level 4) in relevant field from PPT recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.50 minimum CGPA; OR

Other Diploma (MQF level 4) from PPT recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.50 minimum CGPA AND credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR

Matriculation / Foundation

Pass Matriculation/ Foundation in the relevant field from PPT recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.00 minimum CGPA; OR

STPM

Pass with at least two (2) subjects with at 2.00 minimum CGPA AND Pass SPM with credits in Mathematics; OR

A - Level

Pass with at least two (2) subjects in relevant field AND Pass O-level with credits in Mathematics; OR

STAM

Pass with rank “Jayyid” AND Pass SPM with credits in Mathematics; OR

Any equivalent qualification recognize by Malaysian Government

International Admission

The English Language Entry Requirement for International Student at GEOMATIKA University College are as follows:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Band 5.5

TOEFL: Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Score 450

** For students who do not have the above English Qualification, they must undergo Geomatika College International’s English Program
