Geographic Information System (GIS) is an information technology field practice that acquires, manages, interprets, integrates displays, analyzes, or otherwise uses data focusing on the geographic, temporal, and spatial context.Application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in Malaysia is increasing especially in the environment management field, urban planning, logging, health application matters and petroleum. Geographic Information System (GIS) allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationship, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.This course will allow student to answer questions and solve problem by looking at the data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared. Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.
1. Pass STPM with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects and credit in Mathematic at SPM level; OR 2. Pass STAM rank “Jayyid” AND credit in subject Mathematic at SPM level (or equivalent); OR 3. Pass GCE A-level with at least pass in two (2) subjects including Mathematics; OR 4. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in five (50 subjects including Mathematic OR 5. Pass Foundation Program in related course from PPT certified by government with 2.00 minimum CGPA AND credit Mathematic at SPM level (or equivalent); OR
6. Pass Matriculation in the relevan field recognized by Malaysian Government with 2.00 minimum CGPA AND credit Mathematic at SPM level (or equivalent); OR 7. Pass Diploma (MOF level 4) in related course with 2.50 minimum CGPA AND credit Mathematic at SPM level (or equivalent); OR 8. Pass Diploma in Geographic Information System (GIS) from Geomatika Unversity College with 2.50 minimum CGPA AND Pass Mathematic at SPM level (or equivalent); OR 9. Other qualification certified by the Government of Malaysia.
