<p class="p1">In 2011, CAAM Malaysia embarked on a new and most up to date Part 66 licensing system, incorporating all the latest requirement of ICAO. With the publication of Airworthiness Notice 1101, all issuance and renewal of license shall be under this system. CAAM Malaysia now issue two main categories of license being &lsquo;Category A&rsquo; (Aircraft Maintenance Technician), &lsquo;category B1&rsquo; (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Mechanical) and &lsquo;category B2&rsquo; (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Avionics). A licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is the authorized person to ensure and certify that aircraft is airworthy in accordance with local and international aviation standard.</p>
