COURSE OVERVIEW

Diploma in Islamic Studies is a program created to provide opportunities for Malaysians who are keen to explore a broad Islamic branch of study. It is suitable for students from SPM / SPMV or even those with similar experience or qualifications before continuing their studies at the degree of Bachelor, Master and PhD. The program offered half-time will create more graduates; individual and at the same time literate the knowledge of Islam.

Academic Requirements (Malaysian and International Students)

  • SPM / SPMV with at least three (3) credits AND graduated in one (1) Arabic language course OR one (1) Islamic Studies subject; OR 
  • 'O' Level with at least Grade C in three (3) subjects and graduated in one (1) Arabic language course or one (1) Islamic Studies subject; OR 
  • Certificate in Islamic Studies or related field (MQF Level 3) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR 
  • STPM OR equivalent qualification of at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in one (1) subject; and Pass one (1) Arabic language course or one (1) Islamic Studies subject at SPM OR STPM level; OR 
  • STAM (Maqbul Grade); OR 
  • Other qualifications are equivalent and recognized.

Flexible Entry (Malaysian Students)

Admission to Prior Learning Learning Requirements (APEL):

  • Candidates must apply through the Malaysian Qualifications Agency

Minimum English Language Requirements for International Students

  • Minimum score of 4.0 for IELTS; OR
  • Minimum TOEFL PBT score of 397 / TOEFL IBT 30-31; OR
  • Pearson Test of English PTE 30; OR
  • Cambridge English: Advance (CAE 160); OR
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE 180); OR
  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET Band 2).
