Over 400,000 students sat for their SPM History Paper 2 this year. Unfortunately, a list of topics featuring the exam questions were claimed to have been leaked through messaging platforms prior to the exam.
Among the topics were “Maritime”, “Penentangan di Perak” and “Wawasan 2020”.

Students are frustrated and devastated as they question about the possibility of having to re-sit for their History paper once again in 2022. Others are disappointed as they felt that it was unfair to have put all the effort only for the exam questions to leak the same morning.
A teacher who has been teaching history for many years has been linked to this issue. Some even question his integrity as a teacher and demand actions to be taken. However, there are no clear evidences as a number of students who had been taught by this teacher stood up to argue that he only gave out spotted questions every year as other teachers would. He was said to be an experienced teacher with many years of teaching and marking, allowing him to come up with a list of reliable spotted questions.
The video that has been circulating on some social media platforms also shows nothing except some unintelligible word with a loud background music. Other reports claim that the teacher could be heard listing topics that will be coming out in the exam while reminding his students to focus on questions that are easier to answer.
It is very common for every one of us to go around looking for spotted questions, and it is even more common for teachers to come up with a list of spotted questions every year during these public examinations. Any teacher would do everything within their power to help their students, and we have seen some very passionate teachers going out their way to help their students learn.
As for the SPM candidates who are distressed about the thoughts of re-sitting for the paper, do not worry. Unless there is an official statement by the Ministry of Education, you will not have to think and worry unnecessarily.
Most importantly, this is not the first time students come across spotted questions in their real exams. The public are infuriated and suggest that the teacher is not to be blamed, but actions to be taken against the student who created this ruckus by posting a video of the teacher without his consent.
The team at Afterschool has gathered well-trained teachers from across the education sector with more than 20 years of experience to come up with SPM spot questions so that students like you can benefit. We've put it all together and compiled a book that consists of 10 core subjects so you don’t have to scour the library for 10 different books to practise on. And the best part is, it’s completely FREE! No strings attached. Just download your copy of the SPM 2021 February Spot Questions including questions and answers by clicking right here!
