On June 30, it was confirmed by The Higher Education Ministry (MoHE) that students in Higher Education Institutions (IPT) will not have any increased fees.

It was also stated that universities were told not to impose fees on other campus activities as students were not on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic. The minister of MoHE, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmed added that, “From the beginning, we had informed that there would be no increase in the fees and the ministry had requested the universities not to charge students for other activities.”

She also reported that as some universities have autonomy with their tuition fees, they will be instead giving discounts.Furthermore, Noraini made the point that nationwide, 30% of IPT lecturers have been vaccinated. In keeping with this, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has made a plan to provide vaccinations to all IPT students except for medical student in the third phase of the Immunisation Programme. The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) has already had submission of the students’ and lecturers’’ names.
