SPM has been postponed several times due to COVID-19 outbreak. The dates are finally nailed down to 22 February this year. The 2020 candidates are finally relieved as they are able to sit for the exams.

However, there was a Malay language newspaper report claiming that the format has been changed. The report indicated that the exam will be conducted in an open book format. Students, especially those sitting for the SPM exams, were alarmed and confused due to this false news.
The Malaysian Examination Board (LPM) has made a statement clarifying this issue. There are no changes to the SPM examination format this year. The format remains the same as the previous years.
LPM also emphasized that if there are any changes to the SPM format, it will be informed officially to the public.
