COURSE OVERVIEW

The objective of this programme is to educate and train learners to become graduates who are scholar-educators able to:

PO1) grow and become accomplished and experienced educational foundation professionals able to make judgments of relevant theories and practices and be capable of producing new and relevant knowledge through research;
PO2) synthesize and evaluate professional knowledge and practice and apply such knowledge to solve significant problems;
PO3) initiate and innovate independent projects and research activities for the purpose of building and applying knowledge for the benefit of the local community, national society, and the global community;
PO4) participate in scholarly discourses and disseminate knowledge through publications and journals and other means of knowledge dissemination in the academic and non-academic world;
PO5) develop expertise in teaching, coaching, and mentoring and build credibility to become role models in appropriate educational contexts.

Academic Requirement

A Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognized university OR a Bachelor’s degree in any other relevant field (the candidate will be required to undertake some pre-requisite subjects).
If deemed necessary, an applicant may be interviewed and/or required to sit for entrance exams in order to determine his fitness for admission into this programme.
The faculty may, with the approval of the University Academic Council (UAC), require the applicant to satisfy some additional conditions for admission into this programme.
APEL entry is for applicants who are more than 30 years old with a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in the relevant field and Passed the Certificate of Higher Education Malaysia (STPM) / Diploma / equivalent qualification.

Arabic Language Requirement

Applicants interested to enroll in programmes, where the medium of instruction is in Arabic, must pass the MEDIU’s Arabic Language Placement Test (MAPT) before being admitted into the programme.

English Language Requirement

Since the medium of instruction for this program is English, all applicants must meet the English language requirement before being admitted into the programme. Examples include:

Having English as their native language.
Substantially worked or studied in an English-speaking country (such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States).
English language proficiency exam with a minimum overall band score of 550 in TOEFL or 5.5 in IELTS.
A minimum overall band score of 4.00 in MEDIU’s English Language Placement Test (MUET).
Any other relevant qualification, which is equivalent to the set standard by the Senate of the University
