COURSE OVERVIEW

The Objective of this programme is to:

Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of, and competencies in accounting, auditing, taxation and financial management concepts, methods and practices, and thereby equip them for a professional accounting and financial management career.
Enhance student’s capabilities in conceptual thinking in interpersonal and communicating skills and in the use of analytical methods required for effective diagnosis of accounting and financial management theories, concepts and techniques.
Improve students’ critical thinking ability and build the vital skills to conduct quality research within accounting areas of their interest that have practical or theoretical implications.
Preparing students to become researchers in various fields of Accounting.

Academic Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Accounting or related field with minimum CGPA 2.75 as accepted by University Senate; or
Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Accounting or related field with not attaining CGPA 2.75 but exceeding the CGPA 2.50 can be admitted depending on the internal assessment of HEP; or
Relevant professional accounting qualifications equivalent with Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) as accepted by University Senate; or
Other qualifications as equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) with minimum CGPA 2.75 as accepted by University Senate; or
Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Accounting or related field below CGPA 2.50 may be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in relevant field

English Requirements

Candidates who wish to enter a program which medium of instruction is English language must pass the English Language Qualification (TOEFL: 550 / IELTS: 5.5) or equivalent. Exemptions will be given subject to the University Senate’s approval based on situations.
