COURSE OVERVIEW

The programme objectives at the bachelor level are to educate and train learners to become graduate scholar-teachers who are able to:

  • PO1: Acquire and apply a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the underlying values and principles of education science of the Arabic language.
  • PO2: Acquire, and apply the conceptual understanding of the diverse learners’ backgrounds and personalities in the complex educational processes involving teaching the Arabic language.
  • PO3: Explore and create opportunities and possibilities in implementing innovative and relevant Arabic language educational programmes, as well as demonstrate, uphold and cherish the ethics and professional codes of practice and values of the teaching profession;
  • PO4: Initiate and foster positive and productive relationships with Arabic language education and the community as well as demonstrate the capacity to engage in life-long learning and life-long contribution;
  • PO5: Acquire, apply and exercise acts of professional leadership which originated from studies in the biography of the prophet in accordance with the responsibilities given or initiated by the professional scholar-teacher; and
  • PO6: Continuously and incrementally develop general knowledge and individual talents and the fullest personal personalities
This course is an OnLine/Blended Learning based programme.

Academic Requirements

  • Passed the Malaysian High School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 2 subjects including Arabic; and passed the related language subject either at the SPM (or equivalent) or STPM level; or
  • Passed the Malaysian Higher Certificate of Religion (STAM) (Jayyid Level) and passed the related language subject at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level (or equivalent); STAM students who took or not passed Arabic at the SPM (or equivalent) level may be considered for a bachelor’s degree program in Arabic; or
  • Passed UEC with at least Grade B in 5 subjects and passed related Language subject; or
  • Passed Matriculation / Foundation from any IPTA / IPTS / Institution authorized to offer foundation program with CGPA 2.00; as well as passed the related language subject at the SPM (or equivalent) level; or
  • Diploma with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and passed the related Language subject at the SPM level (or equivalent); or
  • Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government
  • APEL entry is not less than 30 years old with a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in the relevant field and Passed the Certificate of Higher Education Malaysia (STPM) / Diploma / equivalent qualification.
