COURSE OVERVIEW

The Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) was the second Faculty to be set up at AIMST. It has set its goals to promote cutting-edge multidisciplinary programmes in which are infused the elements of innovativeness and technopreneurship designed to enhance market competitiveness. Currently, the Faculty has only one department, which is the Department of Biotechnology. Under this department, FAS offers its own three-year degree programme with honours i.e. BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology (BT). In addition to BSc course, Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology (by research) are also offered by FAS through the Department of Biotechnology. Postgraduate programs are becoming popular among the students and the numbers of students are increasing every year.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A-Levels / STPM /STAM / equivalent

Min pass with grade C in 2 subjects. Pass STAM (grade jayyid) with full pass in 2 subject.

UEC

Pass with grade B in 5 subjects.

AIMST Foundation in Science

Pass in 3 subjects including Biology minimum 50%, Grade C or CGPA 2.00.

Diploma in related field

CGPA ? 2.0

SPM / O-Level

Must pass SPM / O-Level or equivalent.

Other qualifications: To be referred to KPT
