Food Science is a multidisciplinary science that intergrates various fundamentals and potential aspects of food molecules, post-harvest processing and food quality assessment. Food science includes the application of scientific/technological knowledge in: minimising post-harvest losses; increasing agricultural productivity; improving the quality, safety and nutritional quality of crops and animals by all available "tools", including biotechnology; and food safety. Student pursuing the Food Science programme would be equipped with an in-depth understanding of science at it applies to foods and involve in hands-on laboratory activities whenever possible, which verify the scientific concepts presented. The Food Science programme prepares students for careers in the food industry or research organizations and for postgraduate study in food science or related disciplines.
Entry Requirements
STPM principal passes in Biology and Chemistry Or A-level with principal passes in Biology and Chemistry Or South Australian matriculation (SAM) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in in Biology and Chemistry
Canadian Pre-University with an average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects including Biology and Chemistry Or Unified examination certificate (UEC) with grade B in 5 relevant subjects including Biology and Chemistry Or Matriculation certificate , Ministry of Education Biology and Chemistry Or Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)
Diploma,Tunku Abdul Rahman Universiti college (TAR UC) in the relevant field or Foundation from other Institutions Of Higher Learning including Biology and Chemistry or Diploma from other Institutions Of Higher Learning in the relevant field Or Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government
