COURSE OVERVIEW

Bachelor of Finance (Hons) is A global higher learning program that produce experts in finance. Finance is a great choice for students who like the idea of being a key-player in global financial markets, designing dynamic financial management strategies for business or providing top-level financial advice to governments, companies or individuals.

The program offers curriculum structure that satisfies the needs of current markets. Students will acquire outstanding knowledge and skills; possess high competitiveness in business and finance. You will gain up-to-date and practical knowledge of current research and practice in the financial field.

Focus Area

Bachelor of Finance (Hons) program comprises a range of courses in finance, economics, mathematics and statistics. Topics available include International Finance, Islamic Finance, Investment Analysis, Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Financial Economics, Portfolio Theory and Mathematics of Finance.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

Passed STPM or equivalent, with minimum grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any tho subjects, and credit in Mathematics OR
Pass a Certificate in Higher Education in Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum Jayyid grade (good), and credit in Mathematics OR
Eligibility equivalent to a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MOH), OR
Matriculation/Basic or equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credit in Mathematics OR
Graduated from UEC with a minimum of Grade B in five subjects including Maths and English passing OR
Pass the Malaysian Vocational Diploma (DVM) from institutions recognised by the Government of Malaysia and the university Senate in any one of the following areas:

Insurance
Marketing
Office Management
Business Management
Retail Management
Accounting
Banking; AND Pass the Vocational Certificate Malaysia (SVM) equivalent to 3 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) credits for candidates earning: -
Honors in English in 1104
Academic GPS > 2.0 and
Vocational Values > 2.67
Competition of all vocational modules

**Note: The SVM program entry requirements for the DVM program for the 2012-2016 cohort are as above. For SVM graduates, cohort 2013-2016, SVM equivalency with 3 SPM credits should also take into account passing SPM History subjects; OR

Other qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.

For International Students, students must have a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS or equivalent.
**Note: Mathematics and English Language requirements at SPM level for candidates (i) and (ii) may be excluded if the eligibility includes Mathematics and English subjects and their achievement/ equivalent to the requirement of passing the subject at SPM level.
