COURSE OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) will develop your high level of technical competence in accounting, the skills to apply your technical accounting knowledge to solve business problems in a variety of settings and adapt to change when it occurs. Your study will end with a work placement where you can apply what you’ve learnt in an organization of your choice.

The discipline of accounting is designed to provide financial and other information essential to the efficient conduct and evaluation of the activities of any organization. Accounting includes the development and analysis of data, the testing of its validity and relevance, and the interpretation and communication of the resulting information to intended users.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

Passed STPM or equivalent, with minimum grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any tho subjects, and credit in Mathematics OR
Pass a Certificate in Higher Education in Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum Jayyid grade (good), and credit in Mathematics OR
Diploma in accounting or field related, or equivalent to a minimum CGPA of 2.50 OR
Matriculation/Basic or equivalent qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credit in Mathematics.

**Additional Terms as of October 10, 2016

Graduated from UEC with a minimum of Grade B in five subjects including Maths and English passing, OR Additional Approval accredited by the Government of Malaysia and the university Senate in any of the following (1) areas:

Insurance
Accounting
Banking; AND
Pass the Vocational Certificate Malaysia (SVM) equivalent to 3 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) credits for candidates earning: -
Honors in English in 1104
Academic GPS > 2.0 and
Vocational Values > 2.67
Competition of all vocational modules

**Note: The SVM program entry requirements for the DVM program for the 2012-2016 cohort are as above. For SVM graduates, cohort 2013-2016, SVM equivalency with 3 SPM credits should also take into account passing SPM History subjects; OR

Other qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia. For International Students, students must have a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS or equivalent.

**Note: Mathematics and English Language requirements at SPM level for candidates (i) and (ii) may be excluded if the eligibility includes Mathematics and English subjects
