Overview

In order to support more Malaysian students to study in the UK, the British Council, together with five UK universities, has launched the GREAT Scholarships 2019 – Malaysia campaign. With ten taught postgraduate scholarships on offer, the total value of the scholarship scheme up to £100,000. This new scholarship scheme will offer an exciting opportunity for Malaysian students wishing to get financial support to pursue postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for taught postgraduate courses in subjects including law, business, art and design, biosciences, IT and more at five institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Criteria

Applicant must meet all the below requirements

  • A Malaysian passport holder
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a taught postgraduate
    programme at a UK university
  • Have an offer from one of the participating UK universities (please refer to the Preferred Discipline section below to view all the participating universities)
  • The course that you have applied for is starting in September 2020
Preferred Discipline

The participating universities and disciplines are as follows:

University of Bristol

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust at the University of Cambridge

  • Value of scholarship: £20,000
  • Subject: All except MBA and MFin


Durham University

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


University of Kent

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


University of Leeds

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


The University of Manchester

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: MSc offered by any discipline within the Faculty of Science and Engineering


Sheffield Hallam University

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


Staffordshire University

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All


Ulster University

  • Value of scholarship: £10,000
  • Subject: All

Step II: Browse listed universities/scholarships and click on specific items to access detailed information (please refer to the Preferred Discipline section above and click on each university to view their course information).

Step III: Apply for individual scholarships following the instructions given on individual universities’ scholarship webpages.

Step IV: Successful scholars will be informed by individual universities on the results of their applications.

Step V: Funding of the scholarships will be issued to successful scholars by individual universities after registration.
