Car sales this year have been negatively affected due to PTPTN's action in enlisting defaulters (those who did not manage to pay the loan) into Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS).bezza-850x428

Starting 1 January last year, PTPTN has enlisted more than half million defaulters into CCRIS. This has caused problems to many graduates and young executive when it comes to applying for car loans.

According to a Perodua salesman, Nazrul Ehsan Baniyamin, out of 13 car loan applications, only 5 are approved. Not paying back PTPTN loan is one of the reasons their loan application is rejected.

"This does not only affect graduates who just started working, but also those who have long worked but not pay PTPTN, he added.

Other factors such as bank loan conditions are strict and rising car prices due to the depreciation of the ringgit has also led to a decline in sales of cars.
