(PTPTN) will be forwarding the list of more than 130,000 defaulters to the Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS) beginning this Tuesday.

Berita Harian claimed that the names of all borrowers had already been sent to Bank Negara until last 26 May and will be included in CCRIS on 16 June.

Delinquent borrowers whose names are listed in CCRIS will have trouble getting a loan from any financial institution in the country. This includes hire purchase loans, housing loans and personal credit cards.

PTPTN chairman Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah in March, said the number of repayment to the agency reaches RM5 million a day.

He said the increase was a result of the strict action taken to ensure that the borrowers from PTPTN to repay their loans.

In addition to listing the name of the defaulters to CCRIS, PTPTN will work with the Immigration Department to also restrict travel abroad.
