PTPTN converts 11,700 loans into scholarships

- A total of 11,700 students got their PTPTN loans converted into scholarships, amounting to RM339.07 million as of 31 December 2012
- These are all students who obtained first-class honours degrees from IPTAs and IPTSs.
- The loan conversion is offered to students who obtained a first class honours degree before 1 July 2005 and after 1 January 2010
- As many as 5,389 students who applied for the conversion were rejected last year because they did not adhere to the above requirements
- How to apply for a loan conversion:
- Submit a loan conversion form, along with certified copies of:
- University Degree
- Final academic transcript
- First-Class Honours confirmation (if not stated on Degree)
- For private university graduates, certificate of accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
- The application will take about 60 working days to be processed.
